Corazon Antolin del Rosario

Feb 20, 1941 - Apr 28, 2012

Obituary

Corazon Antolin del Rosario, 71, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2012, surrounded by family.

She was born February 20, 1941, in Manila, Philippines, the daughter of late Doroteo Antolin and late Jacinta de la Cruz Antolin.  She was the youngest of three siblings.  On January 29, 1972 she was united in marriage to Gabriel del Rosario, whom was called home to be with the Lord on December 25, 1976.

Corazon loved the outdoors, loved to travel, and loved to visit new places.  You will often find her gathered around a lot of people and she cherished every moment with family and friends.  She had a big heart, always smiling and easily made new friends.  Once you are a friend of Corazon you are a friend for life.  Her friends will say that she is a very good friend and would respond by saying “In order for me to be a very good friend, you my friend, must be a very good person.”  Corazon means heart and del Rosario means the rosary.  Friends and family knew the word love, but it was just a word until Corazon del Rosario came along and gave it meaning.  It will take a lifetime to find a person like Corazon but only takes a minute to know how special she really was.

She is survived by her daughter Jovy del Rosario of Sacramento; two nephews she called her own sons, Gulliver Antolin of Sacramento and Rodel Obciana of Saudi Arabia; brother, Dominador Antolin (Leticia) of Las Vegas; sister, Aurora Obciana (late Severino) of Philippines.

What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, we may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget. We love you Tia Azon.

  • Jojo Antolin says:
