Connie Johnson

Constance (Connie) Latterell Johnson, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2018 at age of 90. Connie was born on Oct. 20, 1927 in St. Paul, MN and grew up in the small town of Foley, MN.

Connie decided at an early age that she wanted to help cancer patients after losing her Uncle to the disease. When Connie was a senior in High School her family moved to San Francisco, CA where she later studied Radiology at the University of California College of Xray. Upon graduation, Connie moved to Sacramento, CA starting her career as a Radiological Technologist. Here she met the love of her life, Carroll Johnson. They married and raised their family becoming longtime residents of the city. In 1980 Connie was bestowed the status of Fellow of American Society of Radiologic Technologists, a rare honor for a woman at that time.

They retired in 1991, her from Radiation Therapy Dosimetry at UCD Medical Center and Carroll from the Sacramento Police Department. Then they enjoyed all their days together gardening and relaxing at home with their animals or spending time at their mountain property until Carroll passed in 2010.

Connie is survived by her sons and their wives, Mike and Donna Johnson of Kingman, AZ and Pete and Vickie Johnson of Shingle Springs, CA. She was a loving Granma to Bryan Johnson of Provo, UT, Todd and Cassie Fowler of San Marcos, CA, Leslie Johnson of Sacramento, CA, Stacey Johnson of San Francisco, CA, Scott and Kallie Hudson of Basingstoke, England, Kerry Garcia and Conrad Washington of Cameron Park, CA and many nieces, nephews and friends. Connie will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.

Family and friends are invited to the viewing on Tuesday (4/17) from 9:00-11:00 AM in the chapel at East Lawn Memorial Park 4300 Folsom Blvd. Sacramento, CA. (916) 732-2026, immediately followed by a crypt side service. Remembrances may be made in her name to the S.P.C.A. or charity of one’s choice.
