 Colleen Tschannen, 61

Former Citrus Heights resident, Colleen Diane Tschannen, age 61, passed away unexpectedly on June 7, 2014, at Mercy San Juan Hospital in Carmichael, CA.

Colleen was born May 16, 1953, in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Stuart and Alice (Simonds) Tschannen.  She moved to Cheyenne, WY, in 1961 and then to Anaheim, CA, in 1963.

She graduated from Orange High School in 1971.

Colleen came to Sacramento in 1977, where she attended trade school to study printing and press operation.  She worked as a printing press operator and graphic designer until she started with the State of California in 2000.  Her last position was as a manager for the Office of Statewide Health Planning & Development.

Her hobbies and passions included camping, kayaking, music, art and woodworking.  She was a member of the Sacramento Concert Band, where she played the clarinet.

Colleen is survived by her spouse, Natalie Morris of Citrus Heights, her brother Dan Tschannen of Cool, CA, nieces Renee Mahnky and Lori Mahnky and their respective families of Arvada, CO.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Alice and father, Stuart.

East Lawn Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Crawford’s Barn, 2715 Tiber Dr, Sacramento, from 5-9pm.
