Chris J. Scribner

Jul 24, 1974 - Feb 9, 2016

Christian “Chris” Scribner, an amazing husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2016. Chris touched the lives of everyone he knew with his love, generosity, chivalry, strength and wonderful sense of humor. Chris will be dearly missed.

Chris was born in Reno, Nevada on July 24, 1974. He made his life in Sacramento, California with his wife Christine, their two boys, Ethan and Adam, and their dogs Mango and Max. They enjoyed spending time together around the pool, going on cruises and traveling to places like Mexico, Hawaii and Southern California with family and friends. Chris dedicated himself to his family, as they were the focal point in his life and he was truly happy. He found what many aspire to but never achieve in that he cherished the life he had created for himself, surrounded by those he treasured most. Chris was happiest when he was listening to music and barbecuing poolside for family and friends.

Chris was a man of many talents. He was a gifted cook and grill-master who loved to share his delicious home-cooked meals and perfect BBQ with everyone. He was a helicopter pilot, skilled bartender and an excellent marksman who taught his boys how to shoot. He was the go-to guy for questions about computers or technology, and he was always happy to help. Some of his favorite pastimes were playing Rock Band with his kids and singing karaoke. Chris loved to play his eclectic collection of music very loudly, ranging from Toby Keith to Pink to Metallica to the Beatles. His love of music was just another one of his endearing qualities.

Chris had a wonderful smile, contagious laugh and the most loving heart. Chris cherished all his family and friends and will be profoundly missed by those who had the extreme privilege of being in his life. Chris is survived by his wife Christine and their two boys, Ethan and Adam, and their dog Max; his mother Bonnie; his father Peter and step-mother Linda; his brother Steven and his wife Noha and their four children Monique, Nicholas, Julian and Danielle; his sister Jamen and her husband Richard and their two boys, Jacob and Joshua; his sister Shannon; and his brother Shane and his wife Sara.

  • Nancy Marker says:

I first met Chris when he was but a toddler — and one of my favorite memories of him is at Monastery Beach in Monterey. The sun had set, dinner had been eaten, and somebody pulled out sparklers for the kids. They ran up and down the sand squealing with delight and waving their sparklers. I remember thinking about Chris that his huge, bright smile, exuberant personality, and golden hair easily outshone the sparklers. He was a bright light in many lives, but especially that of his family. He will be deeply missed by so many…

At a complete loss for words and in total shock. I worked with Chris for a while and he was one of the nicest, funniest & all around great guys that would go out of his way to help & be a great friend. Going to miss you so much. My condolences go out to his family.
