Carla Lee Green, age 79, passed away at home on August 1, 2020. Carla was born on April 29, 1941, in Fort Benning, Georgia. She was the only child of Sgt. Carl Lester Carter and Georgia Lee Carter. She graduated from Lubbock High in 1959, and at eighteen while working as a lifeguard on the Reese Airforce base in Lubbock Texas, she met her husband Harold Robert Green. Harold was a young serviceman from Detroit, Michigan stationed in Lubbock at the time. Carla attended Texas Tech University for several years. She was married on August 11, 1961, in the First Baptist Church of Lubbock and would have been celebrating her 58th wedding anniversary with Harold this year. Carla followed her husband to many wonderful places in the world. She loved living in Italy and England and has been living in California since 1982 when Harold went to work for McClellan Air Force Base. Carla worked as a sales representative for the Kanowsky furniture factory and was an evidence clerk at the Sacramento courthouse for fifteen years. Carla loved boating on the Delta and the Sacramento River with good friends and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Carla was a wonderful mother and grandmother with a huge heart, who was generous in all ways especially with her time and love. 

Carla is survived by her husband, Harold Green, her son, Chris Robert Green, her daughter Candace Lee Slagle and husband Matthew Slagle, her granddaughters, Hannah(21), Lauren(16) and Sarah(14) Slagle, her grandson, Derreck Green(32), and her great-grandchildren, Alexia(14), Mona(7), and Leo(5) Green. Also by her two sisters-in-law, Emily Webster(Greg) and Suzie Robertson(Donn deceased), and her many nieces and nephews. All of whom she loved and touched deeply. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Tuesday, August 11 at 10:00 a.m. located at East Lawn Mortuary/ Sierra Hill Memorial Park, 5757 Greenback Lane, Citrus Heights. Reception to follow at the Green’s home.

    Candace you’re mother was great, I’m very sorry for her passing. In the last ten years I have lost the end of my family, close friends and my pets. God bless her and you’re father. Please help you’re father along his way and help him anyway you can.

    I didn’t have too many opportunities to spend time with cousins Bunny and Carla, but when I did I enjoyed every minute with both of them. Carla always had a smile on her face and a friendly word to say. She will be missed by all.

    I will miss you grandma. I will never forget you or the cool things you took me to do, especially the hot air Ballon. We thought we were going to die on that landing /crash lol love you always and forever ;(
