Obituary

Betty Jane Gillett (Hartwig)

July 6, 1940 – June 23, 2022

Betty recently relocated from Sacramento, California to Vancouver, Washington to be closer to her family and begin a new chapter in her life.

Sadly, with ongoing medical conditions and declining health, she passed away peacefully in her new home.

Betty was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, aunt, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.

Betty enjoyed going on adventures with her late husband Frank, and their motorcycle club. She was an avid bowler who took joy in sewing, embroidery, baking and spending time with her family. She loved the Lord and truly believed in the power of prayer.

Betty leaves behind, and will be deeply missed by her daughter, Denise Norton and husband Terry, granddaughter Ciara Castellanoz and husband Michael and daughter Mia, and granddaughter Tristyn Norton and daughter Emerie.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, brother-in-law, and her son.

Betty’s family wishes to thank everyone who has expressed and shown support during this difficult time. Your kindness means more than words can express.

    Dear Denise and Family,
Your Mom will be missed such a good friend through the many years. Leon brought your Uncle Ray to church and Ray brought your Dad. Your Mom took care of our guest book for our wedding and your Dad was our best man. Your Mom babysat for us for years, and so many good memories.
Truly sorry for your loss but she had a good life and a great family.
I will never forget our trip to the Palm desert with her we had a great time but couldn’t get her to go again.
Love you guys, thanks for being there for your Mom you were a awesome daughter and son-in-law.
    PS Please keep in touch.

Dear Gillett family, I am so very sorry to hear of the loss of Betty. Dennis was one of my closest friends and over the many years Betty became like a second mother to me. She was such a sweet and caring mother and person to all. I am heartbroken with her loss. She will be greatly missed. Our prayers to the family and friends.
