Benjamin Tang(1965 – 2016)
Benjamin Tang, 50, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2016. Born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and raised in Sacramento. Benjamin graduated from CK McClatchy before attending California State University, Sacramento where he earned his undergraduate degree in Business Administration – Real Estate & Land Use and his Master’s degree in Finance. He started his career at First Interstate Bank and later Wells Fargo Bank before moving over to civil services. The last 16 years of his career were spent at the State Board of Equalization where he retired as Chief, County Assessed Properties Division. Over the years, Ben enjoyed tennis, skiing, jet skiing, and traveling, but his greatest joy was spending time with family; whether it was gathering for a BBQ, going for a walk, or trying a new restaurant. He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Kelly; sons Matthew and Ryan; father Bong Yin Tang; mother Pui Yin Tang; brother Allan (Arlene); sister Ava; and a large extended family. Ben was a kind, thoughtful and caring husband, father, son, brother and friend. He will be dearly missed. Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, May 20 from 4pm to 8pm at Harry A. Nauman & Son, 4041 Freeport Blvd in Sacramento. A memorial service will begin at 10am on Saturday, May 21.
