Obituary

Ashley Marie Jenkins was born January 22, 1995 to Shirley and Kwanza Jenkins in Sacramento, California.
Ashley attended school in the Ridgepoint, Antelope and Roseville school districts. Ashley always loved sports. She played basketball, ran track and field and played tennis. After high school, she attended Sacramento State University for two years. She was smart, adventurous and loved people. When she walked into a room, she radiated the room with her beautiful smile and dimples.
Ashley loved her parents and siblings and constantly displayed acts of love and kindness to them. She used her first bonus check to buy her Mom a barbecue grill and never said good-bye to her dad and Sherry without saying “I love-you”. She took care of her big sister Monique when she broke her foot and loved talking about how proud she was of Tunicia joining the Army and hoped to visit her soon. Although, she was thousands of miles from her baby sister Kimberly, she was the perfect big sister. Caring and compassionate, Ashley recently mailed her baby sister a present for her birthday. She was affectionately known to her family as the “PI (Private Investigator)” due to her ability to sense what was going on in each of their lives. Ashley was very affectionate, caring, and soft spoken with a big heart. She had a smile of gold with two dimples as big as diamonds and like diamonds, her personality lit up the room.
On Friday August 7, 2015 the Lord looked down on earth and picked a perfect angel to join his heavenly home. Ashley leaves behind her mother Shirley Jenkins of Sacramento, CA, Her father Kwanza Jenkins & step-mother Sherry Jenkins of San Antonio Texas. Three sisters Monique Warren of Sacramento, CA , Tunicia McDowell of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Kimberly Jenkins of San Antonio, Texas. Grandparents Rose May Hackett of Youngstown Ohio, and Marie Jenkins of South Carolina. Ashley is also survived by her Great Aunt Shirley Warren of Youngstown Ohio , Leroy and Pearl Barchus of New York and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends to witness her home going.

To Ashley’s family…so sorry for your loss. Heartfelt condolences from our family to yours. So thankful that Robriana, our niece, brought her best friend on that first Universal City trip. Instantly, she became our niece. The long drives, the train rides, the weekends, the long weekends, the weeks, the vacation getaways, the family get togethers, the craziness of our family… Ashley was always so thankful to be part of it all. Her smile, her dimples, her sense of humor, her willingness to try new things, the “plopping down on top of our bed” to just talk and hang out…and to be family…we will miss Ashley! She will always remain in our hearts!

To: Our Beloved Jenkins Family There is nothing that can prepare you for the loss of a loved one. Especially a loved one that is such a bright shining star whose glow has touched so many. Our niece & cousin Ashley Marie Jenkins was that Star that shined so bright in the lives of so many that the Lord our God decided that she should shine bright in the heavens for all to see. So he reached down and pull Ashley up to the heavens to be with him. We know God has a plan for all of us and Although it’s hard to understand Gods plan at this time. when we look up to the heavens to ask him why has he chosen this pathway. All we can see looking down at us is our shining star Ashley Marie Jenkins covering us all with her glow.. We Love you Ashley Marie Jenkins and we will bask in your glow forever.
