Anna Beatrice Geiger

Anna Beatrice Geiger, a 56 year resident of Chico, passed away May 3, 2014. She was born in
Cotati, Ca on June 6, 1923 to George Heckley and Anna Bella Lippe. She moved to Chico in 1955
with her husband George Elmer Geiger and operated Parker Hardware for twenty-three years
before selling the store in 1977.
During Anna’s time in Chico she served as president of the Business & Professional Womens’
Club. She loved square dancing and belonged to many dance groups. She enjoyed playing the
piano and organ for all who would listen. Anna was a member of First Christian Church and was
very active in choir. She worked at the Discovery Shop for the Cancer Society. In later years
she spent many hours caring for the rose garden at Panama House Assisted Living where she
resided eight years until her death. She became an avid San Francisco Giant fan and rarely
missed a game with the other ladies at Panama House.
Anna is survived by her three children, George(Linda) of Forest Ranch, William of Modesto and
Kathryn Lundy(Charles) of Hawaii and a sister, Lila Steward of Texas. She was the grandmother
of nine and the great grandmother of 17. She was expecting to be a great, great grandmother
in September this year. Preceding her in death were her husband of thirty-eight years, Elmer,
her mother and father, brothers Richard & Charles Heckley.
She will be interred next to her husband at East Lawn Cemetary in Sacramento on Friday May 9
at 11 AM. A viewing will be held Thursday at Newton-Bracewell this Thursday from Noon until 1 PM.
