Alice Nathalene Lewis, passed beyond the sunset on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at the age of 84. She is survived by her husband Allen L Lewis, her son Clifford Lewis (Annie) and daughter Brenda Gustin (Don), 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was born Alice Nathalene Williams, in Verona, Missouri, 7 September 1930 and wed her husband Allen Lewis on January 20, 1952. She was preceded over the horizon by her sister Dana Barkley, father Nathan Williams, mother Inez Williams and sister June ” “. Beyond being a loving wife of 65 years to her loving husband Allen, she was a loving Mother, Grand Mother and Great Grandmother. She graduated from Sacramento High School in 1950 and served as Queen of Job’s Daughters Bethel 74 from 1951 to 1952. She worked as a California State Assemble and Senate secretary for 35 years; most notably as secretary for State Senator Thomas Rees, who went on to be a US Congressman and during the governorship of Ronald Reagan. Beside many memorable adventures during their long and happy marriage. In 1977, she and Allen returned to Japan for their 25th wedding anniversary and second honeymoon where together they climbed Mount Fuji. Her Memorial Service will be held at East Lawn, 9189 East Stockton Blvd, Elk Grove, CA, on March 3rd at 2:00 pm.

Alice Nathalene Lewis passed peacefully in her home, beyond the sunset, on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at the age of 84. She is survived by her devoted husband Allen L. Lewis, son Clifford Lewis (Annie) and daughter Brenda Gustin (Don), 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was born Alice Nathalene Williams in Verona, Missouri, 7 September 1930 and wed her husband Allen Lewis on January 20, 1952. She was preceded over the horizon by her sister Dana Barkley, father Nathan Williams, mother Inez Williams and sister June Zarzana.

Inspired by her love to support others, Nathalene was known as a leader and her ability to get things done. This ability was greatly enhanced by the loving relationship of over 65 years with her devoted husband, Allen. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She graduated from Sacramento High School in 1950 and served as Queen of Job’s Daughters Bethel 74 from 1951 to 1952. She worked as an Assembly and Senate Secretary at the California State Capitol Building for 35 years; most notably as Secretary to State Senator Thomas Rees, who went on to become a US Congressman and during the governorship of Ronald Reagan. Besides many memorable adventures during their long and happy marriage, in 1977 she and Allen returned to Japan for their 25th wedding anniversary and second honeymoon where together they climbed Mount Fuji.
