Obituary

Virginia Badal

Alice Virginia White was born on January 5, 1920 in Randolph County, North Carolina. She passed away at home surrounded by family and friends on May 27, 2017. In 1939, she met and married Robert Badal and they were happily married for 45 years until his passing in 1985. Together they raised six children: Judith (Paul), Roberta, Suzanne (Michael), Jeanette, Robert (Sibylle), and David (Nancy). She is survived by all of her children, 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, each of whom was blessed by her seemingly unlimited reservoir of love and kindness. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents (John and Mobelia White) and her six brothers and sisters. She had dozens of nieces and nephews who were all touched by her and have fond memories of her kindness and affection. Virginia was a warm, wise, funny, and non-judgmental woman who welcomed everyone into her home and her life with a smile and goodwill. A memorial will be held in her honor at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Sierra Hills East Lawn, 5757 Greenback Lane, Sacramento, CA 95841. A reception will follow at the same location.

David and I would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to members of Aunt Virginia’s family. We both loved being with her, and we so appreciate her sweet and loving spirit. As her niece, I remember well how she would recount her interactions with various members of my family. She was very good to me, and I will always remember her fondly. I can honestly say that I am grateful that I got to know her. She will be greatly missed.

Dear Sweet Roberta, I wish there was something I could do help heal your sorrow. I am sure your heart is breaking. May you find comfort as I do in the following sentiment: “Perhaps they are not the stars in the sky, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones shine down to let us know they are always with us.” Love, Pat
