Obituary for Weston Elbert Hulse

Weston was born in Massachusetts. His family moved to Binghamton, New
York when he was two years old. He had five siblings. As a 10 year old he
had a magazine route and during high school had a newspaper route. He
also caddied at the local golf course. Upon high school graduation he
joined the Air Force, where he earned the rank of Staff Sargent in his four
year commitment. He worked briefly at Link Aviation before attending
University of Colorado, Boulder, majoring in Business/Accounting. While at
C.U. he was dating a gal named Barbara that he had met at West
Presbyterian Church in Binghamton. Before his last year of college they
married. Upon graduation, he was employed at Haskin’s & Sells, a CPA
firm during which time he passed the CPA exam. Barbara and Weston
moved to Los Angeles for his new job and in the Fall of 1960 had twin girls
born to them. Three years later the family moved to Rancho Cordova,
where Weston was employed by Aerojet and they bought their first house.
His career job was with the Sate of California, first working in the Audits
Division and later with the State Teacher’s Retirement System. He worked
for the State of California 27 years and was given a Senate Resolution by
Senator Russell for his work on AB 543 at his retirement dinner. At the
signing of that bill he had his photo taken with then Governor Ronald
Reagan and the STRS Board members. Just before retirement, Barbara
and Weston moved to Roseville. Weston loved the outdoors and spent his
spare time hiking, camping, backpacking, cross-country skiing, and roller
skating. He loved and leaves behind his wife Barbara, two daughters Julie
Desrochers(Tim) and Holly Yue(Brian), nine grandchildren, Pam (Carsten),
Stephanie (Peter), Emily (Hagen), Philip, Andrew, Anne Marie, Samuel,
Kathryn, and Michael, and six great grandchildren, who all reside in
California. He also leaves behind his bother Frank (Nancy), sister
Charlotte, and many nieces and nephews. We will miss him, but are so
grateful he is now with Jesus.

The family requests that any memorial donations
be made to First United Methodist Church of Roseville.
