Ronnie was born five years into her parents’ marriage. Ronnie’s father was married previously and had four children so Ronnie has three half-sisters and one half-brother.
Ronnie was born in their home in Greenbrier. Her mother passed away from complications in childbirth. Ronnie’s half sister Rebecca, who graduated from high school in June of 1934 near the time of Ronnie’s birth, took full responsibility for the raising of Ronnie.
Rebecca, her half sister, was married about a year later. Ronnie’s sister Rebecca and her husband were Ronnie’s parents. Rebecca and her husband had a baby boy who Ronnie grew up with as her little brother.
Ronnie always dreamed of becoming a nurse and after a time and some struggles convincing her birth father, she became a registered nurse.
After graduation from nursing school she became married to William Knoch. Ronnie and William had two children together. One girl Jennifer and one boy Rick. That marriage ended in divorce.
Their daughter Jennifer went to college in Colorado and became enchanted by Rollie Stenson of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Jenny and Rollie embarked on exciting adventures together that both thrilled and frightened Ronnie. They were managing a guest ranch on the border of Glacier National Park in Montana when Ronnie’s 19 year old son Rick was killed in a car accident.
Jenny and Rollie were married at their ranch home in 1981. Ronnie visited her daughter often and was introduced to Bill Stenson , her daughter Jennifer’s father in law, at Rollie and Jenny’s wedding. They were attracted to each other and carried on a long distance romance for several years.
Bill, upon retirement from his job as a high school principle, moved from Colorado to Tennessee to marry his love, Ronnie.
Ronnie led an active life. Ronnie worked in doctor’s offices and for insurance companies internationally preparing for Y2K. She didn’t retire until she was 70 years old.
She and Bill were married 25 wonderful years. They loved to travel and especially enjoyed ocean cruises.

Ronnie went to Africa three different times with the Medical Missions Group from her church as the lead registered Nurse. They opened clinics. She spoke of the joy that it was to make a difference for good in others lives.
She moved to California after retirement and the death of her husband, Bill. She said the transfer was difficult at first, but she found everyone at the Commons in Elk Grove to be warm and welcoming and eager to meet and welcome new residents.
Ronnie’s meeting and marriage to Bill Stenson, the father of her daughters husband established her as the matriarch of the Stenson Family by her “very” extended family. Bill had five children when they were married and therefore Ronnie inherited a loving, extended family line.
Ronnie was a very talented lady professionally and in her recreational activities. She enjoyed drawing and painting and was good at it. She involved herself in the Drama and Book club at the Commons, where she lived during her later years.
