Mary âRuthâ Hutchings Young
Ruth was the oldest of seven (7) children born March 26, 1918 to John & Mae Kauzor, in Pittsburgh, PA. Sister of John J. Kauzor (Mary), Grace Thompson (Jim), Helen Blaire (John), Eleanor Sork (Ted), Betty Huver (Bob), and Margaret Good (Ned), all of whom preceded her in death. She married her first love, Charles Stephen Hutchings, 1/25/40 until his death in 1973. She married her second love, Milton Young, 5/18/96, until his death in 2003. She was the proud mother of Mary Ellen Hodder (Paul) Roseville, Peggy Wooldridge (John) Somerset, Robbie Hutchings (who preceded her in death 6/30/19), Dennis Hutchings (Suri) Fort Wayne, IN, Thomas Hutchings (Thao) Fort Wayne, IN, Patti Claffey (Bill) Reno, NV, John Hutchings (Debbie) Olympia, WA, Joanne Spurlock (Chris) Clarkston, WA, and Jeannie Errington (Tom) Sparks, NV. She had 27 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and four (4) great-great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was involved and all kinds of church activities as well as working along with the Los Angeles Diocese in plays and films relating to the Association for Charitable Tasks, (ACT).
She was truly an independent and strong woman. Entrepreneur of Patti-Ruth Originals, an artificial flower, gifts, and antique store in Orange County, CA and The Blue House Inn, Bed & Breakfast in Truckee, CA. She loved life to its fullest, hosting parties, cooking, and shopping. She also had a fondness for writing poems. A thought would come to her and away she went!
She was a remarkable woman who packed an awful lot of memories and things in her 101 years, four (4) months, one (1) week of her life! Now the shop is closed, curtains are drawn, the blinds are pulled, the candle guttered out and mom has begun a new adventure.
