It is with great sadness that the family of Nikolaos “Nick” Darras announces his passing on Tuesday, April 2,2019, at the age of 84 years. Nick will be lovingly remembered by his wife Irene Vozaitis Darras of 24 years , his niece Dina, her husband Laki and son Anthony Poulos. Nick will also be fondly remembered by his sister-in laws, brother-in- laws, numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members and dear friends Nick Darras was born in Psari, Messinias, Greece on March 3, 1935, the son of Konstantinos and Fillio Darras. He attended High School in Meligala, Messinias, Greece. He served 4 years in the Greek Army. After his military service, he left for Athens, Greece where he worked in a factory with his uncle until he married Antonia Karafotia Darras. They immigrated to Montreal, Canada in 1963 where they resided for seven years and then made the move to Sacramento, California in 1970. Nick’s business interest were varied and he was self employed most of his life. His wife Antonia passed away in 1993 and a few years later Nick married Irene who he spent many happy years until his passing. Nick Darras was a deeply religious man and was a dedicated steward to Saint Katherine Greek Orthodox Church and Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. He was Secretary/Treasurer of the Peloponision Society/Morias. Nick enjoyed being involved in helping the growth of hos church and spending time with his family and friends. A Funeral service in memory of Nick will be held on Tuesday, April 9,2019 at 11:00am at Saint Katherine Greek Orthodox Church, 9165 Peets Drive, Elk Grove, California 95758. Interment will follow at the East Lawn Memorial Park, 4300 Folsom Blvd, Sacramento , California 95819. Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Nick to , Saint Katherine Greek Orthodox Church, 9165 Peets Drive, Elk Grove 95758 or/and Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church , 600 Alhambra Blvd, Sacramento 95816. Nick will be immensely missed by his family and friends . May he rest in Peace and his memory be eternal.
