Montez Eleazer

Funeral services for Montez Eleazer Will be conducted on September 12, 2019 at East Lawn Mortuary , 9189 East Stockton Boulevard in Elk Grove California 95624. Subsequent burial will commence at a later date and time. Montez was the son of the late Joshua Eleazer and the late Georgia Mae Hipp Eleazer. He was born on December 14, 1925 in Chapin, SouthCarolina, and departed this life on August 26, 2019 in Sacramento, California. During his lifetime, Montez was inducted into the U.S. Navy at the age of 18 years. He would also go on to serve in the United States Air Force as well. He subsequently returned to civilian life whereupon he obtained his Masters degree in agriculture. He also married Bessie Graves of Mississippi. The two would go on to begin a family, with the subsequent birth of Timothy Eleazer in 1961 and Angela Eleazer in 1966. Although Montez and Bessie divorced in 1973 , Montez remained an active participant and supporter in his children's lives throughout the Years. Timothy would go on to graduate from Sacramento state University and Angela would go on to graduate from the University Of California in Davis .Timothy also went on to marry Desire Hicks, and the two became the proud parents of Kelis Eleazer. Throughout the years Montez continued loving relationships with both of his children while he also continued working as a retiree, in the capacity of substitute teacher in Las Vegas and as a correctional worker in South Carolina. Montez was predeceased in life by his parents as well as his five siblings; Ulysses , Clementine, Harvey, William and Waymand. In his passing, Montez leaves behind a loving group of family and friends, including Bessie Graves Eleazer, children Timothy and Angela Eleazer, his granddaughter Kelis Eleazer, and a loving host of nephews, nieces, cousins, family friends and close acquaintances as well. He will be held closely in all of our hearts
