Leroy Stringer went to be with his Lord Jesus Oct 8th, 2018, in Sacramento, CA. He was born January 17, 1949 in Saipan. He is survived by his wife, Alice Benham Stringer of Sacramento, his brother, Lawerence Stringer, Jr. of Milpitas, CA, his sister, Laurene Fitzpatrick of Fair Oaks, CA, his nieces, Mara DePaoli of Findlay, OH, Tammy Helms of Rancho Cordova, CA, Lianna Fitzpatrick of Las Vegas, NV, Rebecca Christl and Jacki Christl of Seattle, WA, Chieu Vo of Sacramento, CA, brother-in-law Andrew Benham of Ceres, CA, and brother-in-law Don Christl of Santa Cruz, CA and many grand nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawerence and Marilyn Stringer, and his sister, Linda Christl. Leroy was an Eagle Scout, Order of the Arrow and served on the staff at the Scout Ranch in Philmont, New Mexico. A graduate of Encinal High School in Alameda, CA, he attended Cal State Hayward prior to joining the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era. Leroy was a writer of many inspirational poems and pieces which he shared with relatives and friends. He had his own businesses which included translating for court reporters, a newspaper franchise for the Sacramento Union, and successful sales endeavors. Visitation and funeral services are on Saturday, Oct 27th, with visitation starting at 9:30am, and services at 10:30am at the Sacramento First Church of the Nazarene, 1820 28th St., Sacramento, CA. Interment to follow at Sierra Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Sacramento First Church of the Nazarene Building Fund.
