Lanier Hoytt

Lanier “Nell” Hoytt was born on February 4, 1934, to the union of McKinley and Luvenia Hoytt in Goodwater, Alabama. Lanier attended school Coosa County Training in Alabama and joined the United States Air Force in 1954 shortly after its integration. He retired from the Air Force as a technical sergeant overseeing payroll, occasional MP duties and always managed the NCO club at the bases he was posted to . In addition to service to his family and country, Lanier was an active participant in his community and was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Lanier was a true outdoorsman and craftsman, finding his tranquility in fishing, gardening, and carpentry. Lanier transitioned from his earthly life on December 5, 2019 in Sacramento, California and was preceded in death by his parents, sister Bettye (Hoytt) Caffee, and nephew James Caffee Jr. Lanier leaves to cherish his memory: his beautiful wife of 63 years Mary Hoytt; sister Essie (Hoytt) Richardson; granddaughters: Katina, Shreese, Whitney, Diamond, Asia, Ebony, Lexies, and Justice; great-grandchildren: Albert, Anthony, Shaquailah, Artre, Keion, Kesean, Aaron, Amare, Elijah, Pfallyn, Samiyah; great-great-grandchildren: Princess, Amareon, Armani, Amelia and Zaliyah; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins
