Gary Kaita

Gary Joji Kaita passed away at 69 years of age on May 12th, 2020. Gary Kaita, of Sacramento, CA was born on March 8th, 1951 to parents, Miyoko (Sandy) Kaita and Shigeru (Kay) Kaita. Gary grew up in Sacramento with his brother, Kent and sister, Nancy (Kaita) Williams. The youngest of three children, he remained in Sacramento, CA his whole life. Gary worked for Caltrans for 22 years, living a quiet life with his parents. He had a big heart and helped take care of both his parents until their passing. He enjoyed motorcycles, cars, and collecting many model toys like airplanes and tanks. He is remembered for his quick wit, humor and silly jokes that confused his nieces until they got older. He always seemed quiet and shy, but he was actually a humble observer who gave excellent insight and knowledge if you listened. We are blessed and thankful to have had Gary in our lives and pray that his life will be seen as an example of all the different ways we can love and support each other as family and friends. Gary is survived by his brother, Kent Kaita; nieces, aunties, uncle, and cousins. In lieu of a formal ceremony, a private family remembrance will take place as we all are in the midst of a uncertain time and season.
