Benedicto âBenâ Santos Guzman, a 6th grade schoolteacher for 26 years, died on February 11, 2020 at the age of 73 after years of suffering from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder (COPD).
Ben is preceded in death by his wife Adelia Guzman, daughters Allellie and Belinda, sons-in-law Allan and Donovan, grandchildren Allen, Allison, Leila, and Devin, and siblings Alfredo, Leticia, Naty, Ofelia, Edgar, Purificacion, and Joselito.
Ben was born in Pampanga, Philippines on March 31, 1946 to Jose and Cayetana Guzman. He graduated from Arayat Junior College with a Bachelorâs degree in Education. On January 1, 1974, he married Adelia Lumbang, a fellow schoolteacher. On December 9, 1974 and July 10, 1977 respectively, he welcomed his two daughters, Allellie and Belinda.
Benâs other passions were carpentry and gardening. He liked making furniture or simply tinkering with a new project in the backyard. He enjoyed working in the garden which is overflowing with fruit trees and vegetables that he shares with family and friends. Ben loved listening to 50s and 60s music, watching comedy films, and keeping in touch with friends via Facebook.
A viewing is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on February 21 at the East Lawn Elk Grove Memorial Park and Mortuary and a funeral service for 11 a.m. on February 25 at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Elk Grove.
