Isaias R. Mallari age 90, died peacefully at home on Monday July 18, 2016. Isaias was born on July 6, 1926 in Manila, Philippines. He is survived by two siblings Mely and Leonor and three children, Eleanor Diaz(Sergio), Wilfredo(lyn) and Victoria Lumbang(Peter). He was also blessed with ten grandchildren, T. John, Abigail, Faye, Adiel, Aggie, Claire, David, Adora, Abraham and Adam.

Isaias began his 27 years of service with the United States Department of the Defense at Clark Air Force Base, Philippines at age 19 in 1945 after the end of WWII and the Japanese occupation. He performed jobs from junior mechanic, truck driver, Communication Telegraphic Relay operator, Teletypist and Clerk Typist. During this time he pursued a College Education leading to an Accounting degree. In 1951 he married Victoria and began raising a family. The couple opened a Café that remained in business for about twenty years until martial law was declared in the Philippines in 1972.

At age 50, aided by a sustained superior performance letter from a USAF major, Isaias was awarded US immigrant status. He began his life in Sacramento in 1976. He worked for the State of California for 15 years retiring as an accountant 1 when he turned 65. His supervisors acknowledged Isaias as responsible, persevering, loyal and of high integrity.
He loved to garden and kept his lawn neat and tidy, the envy of his neighbors. He read the newspaper daily along with his Readers Digest and did his crossword puzzle until dementia set in. He enjoyed music and would often whistle and sing Karaoke. Sinatra songs were his favorite! He was known to his family as the Filipino Sinatra.

Grandpa, Isaias nurtured his grandchildren, fostering in them good moral traits and respect for others. Grandpa always punctual arrived early to faithfully pick up his grandchildren at Sacred Heart elementary school. Aggie, Claire, David and Adora cherish his advice for succeeding in life and achieving their highest aspirations, " Keep the midnight oil burning."
