Andrew Elliott Sisterson passed away June 7, 2016, at age 19, surrounded by his family. Born on Valentine's Day, 1997, Andrew was beloved by his parents Tom & Laura, had a tight bond with his twin brother Connor, and looked up to and adored his older brother Jeffrey. Andrew is also survived by his grandparents Robert Sisterson, James & Phyllis Elliott, aunts and uncles Karen & Jim Dolter, Doug & Sue Sisterson, Bob & Carole Sisterson, Karen & Peter Toomey as well as numerous cousins.

Growing up in Sacramento, he attended Waldorf schools through his first year of high school, and graduated from McClatchy High school in 2015. Andrew was enrolled in the Law & Public Policy Program at McClatchy, and enjoyed being part of the tech crew for drama productions, as well as the robotics team. He also loved photography, and could often be seen with his camera around his neck.

Andrew was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church where he participated in the youth group and went on service project mission trips, including to Nicaragua in 2014. Westminster Woods summer camp was another special place for Andrew, where he worked as a camp counselor.

Andrew's activities outside school & church included Tae Kwon Do, for which he achieved a black belt in 2014, and SCUBA diving. He became a PADI Certified SCUBA diver in 2012, and absolutely loved attending Seacamp San Diego, where he was able to practice his skills diving near San Clemente Island. Andrew dreamt of swimming among and researching sharks, a fascination and interest that dates back to the preschool years.

A love of marine biology and the natural world drew Andrew to Humboldt State University, where he finished his first year in May, 2016.

Three weeks after coming home from Humboldt State, Andrew was a passenger in a car accident, and passed four days later.

Andrew was often described as having both depth and a good sense of humor, and being kind, compassionate, goofy, shy, intelligent, a chick-magnet and a shark lover. He had an infectious smile that will remain in our memories forever.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1300 N Street, Sacramento. If desired, donations can be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church youth missions, or Seacamp San Diego Andrew Sisterson Memorial Scholarship Fund (P.O. Box 711310, San Diego, CA 92111).
