Jack Crouse

September 4, 1925 — June 21, 2018

Since Jack’s passing on June 21, 2018, the words “the strong, silent type” has been repeated to his family many times. He truly was a strong, proud and loving man with a great sense of humor. He helped to shape the lives of not only his children and grandchildren, but many of his nieces and nephews as well. He was one of the pillars of a large and loving family. Jack was a man of the earth and was most comfortable on his riding lawn mower or with a pair of pruning shears or a garden hose in his hand, or just sitting in his lawn chair enjoying his back yard and a cold beer. He had many happy times fishing, hunting, and camping with his sons, grandsons, nephews, and friends. And when the extended family got together there were great stories told about the “good old days” by Jack and his sister Mona. Lots of laughs for us all! He was proud of the flag and his service to his country. A veteran of WWII, he was a member of the U.S. Army 7th Infantry Division and fought in the battle for Okinawa in 1945. Jack worked for A. Teichert & Son, Inc. Aggregates Division from 1962 until his retirement in 1990. He will always be loved and missed by his wife of 62 years, Ralpha, his daughter, Kathy Villegas (Greg), his sons, David Crouse (Pamela), Ray Crouse (Jonna), granddaughter, Melissa, grandsons, Trenton, Ryan (Kristel), Travis and Todd, great-granddaughters, Mikayla and Leilah, and step granddaughter, Corinne Wester. His sister Mona Smith, and all of the Crouse, Myers, Smith and Villegas families. He was predeceased by brothers, Andy Crouse and Ed Crouse. A celebration of life in Jack’s honor will be held in August. For more details please contact Kathy Villegas at kth.villegas@gmail.com.
