During the early evening hours of July 11th 2018, a traumatic and life changing event occurred in the intensive care unit of the Mercy San Juan Hospital in Citrus Heights. Our closest friend, dedicated mother and loving wife Flora Andrade, passed away! She left us after suffering complications from a lung disease which had plagued her for years. For all of us who are a part of this event, it is a time which is epic, historical, deeply emotional and filled with sorrow. We have seen the extinguishing of a brilliant light which had for years filled our hearts with joy and love. It is the warmth and comfort of Floras memories that will carry us through this tragic loss. When Flora Andrade ascended up into Heaven, there was indeed a great disturbance in the force of the Universe. Flora was born in Somerton, Arizona on 2-15-1934 to Annie Matos and Gregorio Martinez in a family of 5 children. She is survived by her sisters Paula, Mary, Betty, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and predeceased by her brother Albert. Flora grew up as a young woman in the city of Sacramento, California, where she developed a great love for music and dancing and became very well known for her dancing abilities. Her other hobby was in the form of womenâs baseball, which she also excelled at having played with a large number of womenâs teams in two different leagues. Flora had many different adventures in her life, she traveled to many different states within the US and abroad with her children to such places as Spain, England and Mexico. Her most outstanding accomplishment was the raising of 5 wonderful children, Marcus, Olivia, Dino, Duni and Angel. It was later in her life that she me the love of her life and married Donald Andrade. After spending 50 years together her loss will be hard for him.
