Obituary for Bert K. Holcomb Jr.

Bert Holcomb, Jr. was born May 12, 1942 in Dallas, Texas and passed on January 4, 2018. He was 75. He was the son of Bert and Mildred Holcomb. He graduated from W.W. Samuell High School in Dallas in 1960. He attended Texas Tech and completed his AA degree at the College of San Mateo. He served his country in the Air Force from 1963-1967. He married Cheryl Ritzke on March 7, 1970 and had three sons. He retired from Cokesbury after over 35 years of service in different positions. During his retirement he enjoyed reading, golfing, playing cards, watching his grandchildren play sports and, of course, watching his grass grow.
Bert was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his devoted wife Cheryl of 47 years, his sister Carolyn (Gerry), sons Doug (Shannon), Chad (Meredith) and Ryan (Natalie), and seven grandchildren Braden, Ethan, Lauren, Matthew, Dustin, Kamden and Cruz.
We love you and miss you more than you would know. We hope he is busy mowing the lawn and listening to Buddy Holly with a Sprite or Root Beer in hand. We also hope he gets his Fox40 news and continues to keep up on his reality shows.
There will be a viewing on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 from 4-8 p.m. and a service for Bert will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 11, 2018. Both will be at the East Lawn Sierra Hills Memorial Park and Mortuary.
