Arnesta Henderson

Her Life Arnesta Henderson passed peacefully at her home August 1, 2018. She was 88 years of age. Arnesta was born May 20, 1930 in Fayette, Missouri to Tom and Everlena Petty. Arnesta enjoyed spending time with family, playing card games, cooking and dancing. She loved country music, western films and collecting jewelry. She traveled often to California to visit her children and grandchildren. At one point in time she resided in California for ten years. After the ten year period, she returned to Missouri for a short time. In April 2014, she decided to permanently return and live in Sacramento, California. Arnesta is survived by five daughters, Cindy Graves, Christine Maupin, Loretta Starr and Tracey Pughsley, all of Sacramento, California and Linda Petty of Columbia, Missouri; five sons; Nevada Henderson, Anthony Henderson, Herschel N. Henderson Jr., Gene Cowans, all of Columbia, Missouri and Don Henderson of Lawton, Oklahoma. Also surviving are her brother Donald Petty; a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. in addition to her parents, Arnesta preceded in death by her spouse Herschel N. Henderson, two sons, Billy Petty and Victor Petty; four brothers, Roger, Tommy, Everett and Frank Petty; three sisters, Rhoda Vinyard, Anna Lee Nichols and Mayme Lewis.
