Steven Bartel, Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

Steve and his wife, Debbie, moved from Los Angeles to Sacramento in 1991, the same year they were married. Steve graduated from the University of Arizona in 1986 with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, majoring in Accounting. The first three years of his professional career were with Deloitte, Haskins and Sells, a "Big Eight" accounting firm. Steve passed the California Certified Public Accountant exam in 1987 and became a licensed CPA in 1991. Steve began his career in the funeral and cemetery industry in Los Angeles, prior to joining East Lawn in 1991. In addition to being a CPA (currently inactive), Steve is licensed in California as a funeral director, cemetery broker, cemetery manager and crematory manager.

Steve volunteers his time as Treasurer for the Old City Cemetery Committee, Inc., a non-profit organization focused on community education, preservation, restoration and beautification of the Sacramento Historic City Cemetery and its artifacts.
