Nisha Hafiz, Cemetery Counselor East Lawn Elk Grove
For Nisha it is ‘families first’ since 1992. She believes it’s a sacred trust that families give us at such a delicate time in their lives. Education is the key and it’s a privilege when a family allows you to share the benefits of pre-planning for the inevitable. She especially loves the outreach programs such as seminars that East Lawn has for the community to create awareness and the message that "we are here for you".
Nisha was born on the Fiji Islands and came to California at the tender age of 8. She managed several cemeteries with emphasis on diversity development of areas and private family estates for different community organizations and groups. She also teaches ethnic studies for the traditional, orthodox and nonorthodox, Muslim, Hindu, Sikh way of burials and funerals at the University of Tennessee for the International Cemetery Cremation and Funeral Association (ICCFA).
She is also involved with the yearly Toys for Tots drive for servicemen and women, Cancer walk in the Park, Candlelight Service for the Holidays, Wreaths across America, Food/Clothing drive for homeless veterans and tribute to local fallen hero’s on Memorial Day.
Nisha considers herself blessed with the knowledge and expertise to save families from the headache and heartache of "death shopping" on the worst day of their lives by educating them about the benefits of pre-planning ahead of time.
