Remembering Your Loved Ones

East Lawn's Alzheimer's Memorial Wall is available to all who are, or have been, afflicted with Alzheimer's disease. Alzheimer's disease is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States, and the fifth leading cause of death in California – and there is no cure.

This first of its kind in the nation Alzheimer's Memorial Wall, honors those who are still suffering as well as those who lost their battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Each engraved name appears as white (light gray) ¾ inch tall letters on a black granite panel. To engrave a name on the Alzheimer's Memorial Wall, the fee is $250 per name (first, middle initial, last names only). During the month of July, when we hold our annual Fab 40's 5k Run/Walk – City of Sacramento 5k Championship, which is a benefit for the Alzheimer's Association, the fee drops to $185.

Three semi-oval granite tops can also be purchased with full laser-glass etching artwork, names and photos. The oval granite tops are $2,500 for half; $4,500 for whole. A portion of the proceeds from all engraving is donated to the Alzheimer's Association.

East Lawn dedicated the Alzheimer's Memorial Wall in 2011 as a permanent remembrance, located in a serene setting, as a place of comfort and connection for generations to come.

Each year, on the last Saturday in July, East Lawn hosts the City of Sacramento 5k Championship, also known as the Fab 40's 5k Run/Walk. This event is a benefit for the Alzheimer's Association and is also widely attended by Alzheimer's families who form teams to support their loved ones. Individual runners and walkers, elites and amateurs alike, are invited to join with us! There is also a Kids Fun Run just before the main event and lots of kid and family activities.

The Fab 40's 5k Run/Walk encompasses a beautiful, scenic route through the fabulous 40's homes located around East Lawn Memorial Park. The race begins and ends just inside the cemetery gates where there will also be a variety of vendor and informational booths, give-aways, a kids bounce house, and much more.

This event takes place each July and you are encouraged to visit our website for more details and entry information. Come celebrate the life of a loved one who has been touched by Alzheimer's disease and support this worthy cause.
