What is a Rental Casket?

A rental casket is used primarily for viewing and/or funeral services prior to cremation and consists of two parts. The first part is the outer shell which looks just like a regular wood casket however it has no interior lining (this part is used again by other families). The second part is a separate container that fits inside the outer casket shell and has an interior lining and pillow. Attendees of the funeral service won’t even know it’s not a regular casket. After the viewing and/or services, the inner unit, containing your loved one, is removed from the outer shell and is cremated with the body. At a fraction of the cost of a solid wood casket, the rental casket, as a cremation option, has gained wide popularity over the past several years.
